WB549 is the very first British Chipmunk with an interesting history displayed for the first time at Farnborough in 1949 by test pilot Pat Fillingham one of De HavillandвЂ™s test Pilots. Following trials WB549 was posted to the Empire Test Pilots School at Farnborough and today she has the approval to display the ETPS standard (crests approved).Subsequently the aircraft was bought by Hawker SiddeleyвЂ™s MD and civilianised in 1973.
